We are four family nurse practitioner students at King University in Knoxville, Tennessee.  This team developed this website in October 2018 for a course project in our family nurse practitioner program for southern type 2 diabetics.  As healthcare professionals in the south, we know the challenges that type 2 diabetics face with this disease.  This team grew up with mama's gravy and biscuit's, too!  We understand how difficult it is to give up good ol' southern cooking and substitute with food that is healthy and suits your fancy.  We developed this website to educate our southerners with type 2 diabetes on how to maintain their southern culture while achieving greater health outcomes with improved lifestyle choices.  Continue to the videos below to meet the team.
